FC Barcelona players choose the Costa Garraf for permanent residence

FC Barcelona players buy real estate in Gava and Castelldefels.

The Costa Garraf is located just 14 km from Barcelona. The main towns of the coast are Gava Mar, Castelldefels and Sitges. Pine forests, great nature and a wide sand beach line make the coast an ideal place for permanent residence. A big picturesque natural mountain park of Garraf is situated here. The presence of the natural park protects the area from excessive building. Moreover, it is the only coast in the Barcelona area where residential districts are not separated from the beach by a railway bed. The majority of visitors here in summer are locals on vacation. There are no big hotels on the coast which is why much less tourists come here in comparison with other beaches. The recently built road junctions have significantly improved the traffic; now, one can get to the centre of Barcelona in 15-25 minutes. It makes the Costa Garraf an exceptionally convenient place for living for those who have to go to the city quite often.

The Costa Garraf is an exclusive and prestigious area of Catalonia with very high living standards. Some of the best marinas of the Mediterranean Sea are situated here. The majority of FC Barcelona players choose the Costa Garraf for their main residence.

Victor Valdes, the FC Barcelona goalkeeper, purchased a house in a seaside town called Gava Mar in 2012. Back in the day, Gava Mar was a place of residence of such players as Seydou Keita, Rafaes Marques, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Henrik Larsson, Thiago Motta, Juan Roman Riquelme, Michael Reiziger, Patrick Kluivert, Philipp Cocu, Frank de Boer.

Cesc Fabregas has purchased a house with sea views in Castelldefels. Javier Mascherano, Daniel Alves and Alexis Sanchez live here as well. Lionel Messi lived in the area until recently, some houses used to belong to David Villa, Ronaldinho and Rivaldo.

The new forward of FC Barcelona, Neymar, has also showed his interested in buying a house by the beach in Gava or Castelldefels before moving to Spain. He liked the house which used to belong to Ronaldinho before, but now the villa is being rented out. The player’s family has rented a 1,000 m2 house in the district of Pedralbes, Barcelona, but the father and the brother of the player are still searching for a villa on the Coast of Garraf.
