The town population became international a long time ago, more than 35% of the residents here are English, Dutch, French and Scandinavian. There are several international schools in Sitges.

The fiction and horror movie festival is held here in October. Moreover, the tango festival, chess competitions with the involvement of international chess masters and many more events are organised in the town.
